Clinical Nutrition

Balanced nutrition is an essential foundation for healthy living that can
significantly enhance your overall health and prevent future disease.
Personalized dietary adjustments and vitamin, mineral and enzymatic
supplementation may be used to promote health, address deficiencies or treat
disease processes. Education about healthy food choices is also emphasized.

Homeopathy

An
energetic medicine based on the principles of “like cures like” developed in
the 1700s, homeopathy uses minute amounts of naturally-derived substances
prescribed based on the unique characteristics of the patient in order to
stimulate self-healing abilities. Classical single-remedy homeopathy,
complex remedies and Biotherapeutic Drainage may be used.

Botanical Medicine

Plant-based medicines have been used for thousands of years and are the
basis of modern pharmacology. They are also the subject of a growing number
of positive clinical research studies relating to their safety and
effectiveness. Treatments in the form of teas, tinctures, capsules and
topical applications may be used. We are trained to identify the
interactions between herbs and other treatment (including supplements and
prescription medications) and new research is constantly being done.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

TCM uses acupuncture, traditional herbal preparations and dietary
modifications to balance the flow of Chi (energy) in the meridian pathways
of the body. Pulse and tongue diagnosis is used to determine the course of
treatment. Acupuncture treatments, which involve the insertion of needles at
specific points along the meridian channels, are performed using
pre-sterilized and packaged single-use needles.

Physical Medicine

A
variety of physical or hands-on techniques for the spine, joints and soft
tissues may be used to promote optimal health, relaxation and physical
alignment.

Lifestyle Counseling

We
are committed to the education and guidance of our patients in making
positive changes to the physical, mental-emotional and environmental aspects
of one’s lifestyle that may be inhibiting optimal health. Uncovering the
habits, behaviors and stressors that contribute to ill health, and learning
ways to make changes that will help to promote health and prevent illness.

Orthomolecular Medicine

Describes the practice of preventing and treating disease by providing the
body with optimal amounts of substances that are natural to the body. The
key idea in orthomolecular medicine is that genetic factors not only affect
the physical characteristics of individuals, but also their biochemical
milieu.

Mind/Body Medicine

Focuses on the interactions of the mind, body, and behavior, and the
powerful ways in which emotional, mental, social, spiritual, and behavioral
factors can directly affect health.
Craniosacral Therapy: A very soft touch, hands-on therapeutic approach that
involves the enhancement of natural bodily function.

BodyTalk

Combines the wisdom of advanced yoga and ayurvedic philosophy, the insights
of modern physics and mathematics, the energy dynamics of acupuncture, the
clinical findings of Applied Kinesiology, and western medical expertise.
BodyTalk is an astonishingly simple and effective form of therapy that
allows the body's energy systems to be re-synchronized so that they can
operate as nature intended. Each system, cell and atom is in constant
communication with each other at all times. Through exposure to the stresses
of day-to-day life, these lines of communication become compromised, which
then leads to a decline in physical, emotional and/or mental health.
Reconnecting these lines of communication then enables the body's mechanisms
to function at optimal levels, thus preventing disease and rapidly
accelerating the healing process. BodyTalk can be used as a stand-alone
system to treat many health problems, or seamlessly integrated into any
health care system to increase its effectiveness and promote faster healing.
